Our preferred approach is to partner with our customers. This means collaborating - often concurrently - in the initial product design stages of complex engineered structures. By this means we can often advise on the best available materials and methods to ensure the most cost effective interfacing of highly engineered and complex structures at the assembly stage.
We can ensure our customers benefit from emerging best practices in gap management as well as our vast accumulated experience in successfully addressing often complex structural assembly challenges. We see this as a unique element of the value proposition we offer.
We have particular expertise in providing shim solutions for the new generation of “carbon rich” aircraft. In these new airframe designs, where carbon composite material can represent 50% or more of an aircraft’s structure, the ability to meet much tighter than traditional tolerances, as well as to ensure compatibility with exotic materials, is critical. Incorrect shimming on carbon structures can result in premature structural fatigue.
Whether using lightweight laminated polyimide, or solid or peelable composite materials, we have the knowledge, expertise and manufacturing capability to assist.
By integrating the manufacture of nut plates and fasteners to fillers and packers, we can help our customers save money and improve supply chain efficiency by removing another tier. We can also assist with other sub-assembly requirements using our skilled and experienced workforce.
We offer a full range of logistical options for the supply of components; whether through scheduled deliveries, in single or fully kitted form, on a Direct Line Feed basis, though Min/Max systems, or in support of such other systems as best suit your particular production systems.
Depending on configuration, considerable savings can be achieved by eliminating non-value added activities such as customer warehousing, stock control, expediting and even order placement, together with economic benefits from reduced costs of working capital financing and elimination of inventory obsolescence risk.
